NASA videos

NASA has videos on their website, and also on You Tube. The 50th Anniversary video gives a quick overview of some of the major events in space exploration over the last 50 years. There are interviews with some of the astronauts and tech support, as well as, some cool pictures of the planets. http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/videogallery/index.html. I went to You Tube and added them to my playlist. You can maximize the screen then. I didn't see that option on the NASA site. Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3mI_aT94KA and Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3xGjrUZp6M&feature=related. If the links don't work, just search NASA 50th Video Part 1.

Ch 3 Streaming Videos

These are two videos I'll use for Ch 3...

Lesson 4 - A Closer Look at the Moon (20:00)

At the end - In the Shadow of the Moon (1:27:46)
Depends on the amount of time I have - may only show parts of this - it has interviews with the astronauts and footage from the first steps on the moon and planting the flag, etc.

Hands-on Earth Science

Here's a site that has some skits, role-playing, and flash cards for some of our earth science topics, like rocks, weather, and astronomy. http://mjksciteachingideas.com/games.html
